This site was originally setup several years ago just for fun to post details about an upcoming annual float trip that some of my friends and I do every year on the Illinois River at Tahlequah, Oklahoma and to host photo albums from the trip. Kevin, Alex, John, Callie, Greg, Atlee, Becky and Kathy and myself (Tom), among others, are regulars. This year we were also joined by Chris. The float began with a group of us that went to Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University) together. It has become an open event attended by a host of people from Houston to southwest Missouri, including quite a few conservative and libertarian bloggers.
The site will continue to perform those functions, but I’m also expanding it to include lots more information about all sorts of outdoor fun including travel, daytrips and outdoor living at home – float trips, camping, hiking, grilling. I’ll continue chronicling our floating adventures, hopefully providing some information to help you with your own or some amusement when you’re stuck indoors.
