Floater’s Outdoor Adventure Writing Contest is for outdoor travel and adventure writers of all stripes. The contest is open to professional travel writers, sports writers, amateur writers, outfitters, tour guides and outdoor enthusiasts. The contest will run from September 24, 2006 when submissions will be accepted to October 1, 2007.
Some potential topics for submission include:
- How-to pieces
- Nonfiction outdoor recreation travel stories
- Fiction pieces (clearly labeled as fiction)
- Travel destination reviews
- Reviews of equipment
In addition to the current first prize – The Ultimate Outdoor Bloggers Kit – with a retail value of $95.75, authors submitting pieces will get:
- Attribution including a link to their own websites
- Consideration for writing positions on Floater or other sites in the network
